
Community Mental Health Clinical Nurse Educator
About this exciting role
This role is an opportunity for an innovative experienced community Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health Education team at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The Community based CNE will be responsible for providing clinical education and mentorship to a multi-disciplinary workforce with a focus in the adult mental health community services. They will be responsible for the development and evaluation of programs and initiatives that support our existing and expanding workforce. The CNE will work in collaboration with the Education Team Leader and Senior Psychiatric Nurse to support staff across SVMH service, ensuring education programs are developed that promote best practice with a focus on strengths and recovery. The Mental Health Education team at St Vincent’s recognises and supports innovative and creative ideas to improve outcomes for staff and consumers and support professional growth and development through succession planning and rotation opportunities.

About the Mental Health Department
St Vincent’s is proud of its Mental Health Service provision and continues to strive to achieve the best outcomes for our consumers as well as our workforce. With a focus on recovery oriented practice and the use of the ‘Strengths Model’ and its principles, we aim to work in collaboration with our consumers and their supports to achieve their goals. The Mental Health service is comprised of inpatient adult and older persons, residential based rehabilitation and a variety of community teams that address the needs of Mental Health across the spectrum, from crisis management and day to day care through to suicide prevention and a brief interventions group program! The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
