Yale Schwarzman Center Community & Impact Research Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing systems that measure and communicate the Center’s audience engagement and institutional impact. Their role is to ensure that the Center can clearly understand who it serves, how audiences experience programming, and how that work supports its broader mission.

Community & Impact Research Coordinator designs and manages audience research processes; collect, organize, and analyze data across departments; and produces reports that support leadership, development, and strategic decision-making. Reporting to the Visitor Services team, this role is a part-time, fixed-term position with a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings and weekends aligned with programming.

Specific responsibilities include:

Audience research and data collection

  • Designs and administers audience feedback tools, including short surveys, intercept questions, and occasional focus groups.
  • Ensures consistent implementation of data collection methods across events and updates tools as needed based on feedback and operational needs.

Data organization and analysis

  • Collects, organizes, and maintains audience data from multiple sources, including ticketing systems, attendance records, surveys, and marketing platforms.
  • Maintains centralized databases or tracking systems.
  • Conducts basic analysis to identify trends in attendance and audience engagement.

Reporting

  • Prepares recurring reports on audience engagement, including mid-semester summaries, end-of-semester reports, and an annual synthesis.
  • Presents findings in clear, accessible formats for use by leadership and relevant departments, including Development and Programming.

Systems and coordination

  • Supports the development and maintenance of standardized data collection and reporting procedures.
  • Documents workflows and ensures systems are structured for long-term sustainability.
  • Works collaboratively with Visitor Services and other departments to integrate data collection into event operations.

Other duties as assigned

  • Participates in relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Works occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with programming needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in research, data analysis, administration, communications, or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, research coordination, or related administrative work.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet recurring deadlines.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and/or database tools (e.g., Excel, Airtable, or similar systems).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across departments.

Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in arts programming, audience engagement, or higher education environments preferred.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals. 2. Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices. 3. Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk. 4. Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials. 5. Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary. 6. Develops, oversees and monitors budgets. 7. Develops and maintains specialized training. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
