What Does a Groundskeeper Do?
Groundskeepers play an important role in keeping our apartment communities clean, attractive, and welcoming for residents, prospective residents, and visitors. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining the appearance of the community and enjoys staying active throughout the workday.
Responsibilities may include:
Maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of community grounds and common areas
Picking up litter and debris throughout the property
Keeping sidewalks, parking areas, breezeways, and other exterior areas clean
Assisting with basic landscaping and grounds maintenance
Maintaining pool and recreational areas
Cleaning and preparing common areas for residents and prospective residents
Assisting the maintenance team with projects and apartment turns as needed
Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
Helping ensure the community remains clean, attractive, and well maintained
Performing physically active work outdoors in varying weather conditions
What We Look For
You don't need previous apartment maintenance or property management experience to be considered for an entry-level Groundskeeper opportunity.
We're looking for individuals who bring:
A strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Pride in keeping outdoor spaces clean and well maintained
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail
The ability to stay productive and manage assigned tasks throughout the day
Comfort working outdoors and performing physically active work
A professional and respectful approach when interacting with residents and coworkers
Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance, construction, janitorial, or similar hands-on experience is a plus
