Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location:
You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Financial Assessment Team. This is a dynamic and interesting role that plays a key part in ensuring all adult social care customers are financially assessed and to ensure income is collected for the Council. You will be part of a dedicated team where flexibility and commitment go a long way.

As a Financial Assessment Officer/Community Finance Advisor, you will be a key player in ensuring all adult social care customers are financially assessed and charged appropriately. As part of the Financial Assessment Team, you will:

  • Undertake financial assessments for customers receiving social care and advise customers of the contribution they are required to make towards their care.
  • Provide advice and support to customers and their representatives in all matters relating to the financial assessment process.
  • Gather financial information from customers via telephone/in-person appointments.
  • Ensure all customers required to contribute towards social care services are invoiced appropriately and that debts are paid.
  • Undertake annual reassessments for all customers receiving social care services.
  • Administer the deferred payment scheme for eligible customers.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues in relation to the financial assessment process.

About You

We are looking for an organised, proactive, customer focussed professional who has:

  • Experience in financial administration or public sector finance.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and the Care Act 2014.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • The confidence to use Microsoft Office applications and is capable of producing clear and concise correspondence to social care customers.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
