Community Engagement Worker– Be Part of Transforming Lives

About the role

In thishandson,peoplefocusedrole, you will champion community engagement across our mission expressions. You will oversee the delivery of social services, coordinate volunteers, and create accessible faith pathways for those who wish to explore them. Your leadership will help ensure our community feels welcomed,supportedand valued.

This is a parttimeposition (6 hours per week) for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Based at our Armidale Corps, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the local community while enjoying the flexibility ofparttimework.

How you will make an impact

  • Community Service Delivery — Oversee Salvos Connect, EPA services, ChristmasCheerand other community programs.

  • Volunteer Leadership — Build, train and support a team of community engagement volunteers, ensuring compliance andstrong teamculture.

  • Program Development — Coordinate programs such as the Positive Lifestyle Program and explore new initiatives that respond to emerging community needs.

  • Community Communication — Share information through newsletters, social media, localpapersand internal channels.

  • Partnership Building — Foster strong relationships with local organisations, TSA specialistservicesand community providers.

  • Client Support — Ensure every community member experiences a warm, welcoming environment and is linked toappropriate TSAservices.

  • Administration & Compliance — Manage SAMIS recording, reporting, approvals, cardreconciliationsand Workday compliance.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services/Social Work (Certificate level minimum)

  • Experience in community engagement within a not for profit orfaith-basedsetting

  • Ability to build rapport with community members and partners

  • Experience developing andfacilitatingcommunity-basedactivities

  • Integrity,professionalismand a heart for people

  • Commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission,valuesand faith informed approach

  • Current driver’s licence

  • National Criminal History Check

  • Working With Children Check

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
