Job Description

  • Two permanent, full-time opportunities available in the Northern Territory
  • Be part of a passionate team committed to financial inclusion and community well-being
  • Significant role with a direct impact on customers and communities

At Westpac, we're committed to creating better futures together. We're expanding our Community Engagement team in the Northern Territory and seeking two passionate, relationship-focussed individuals to help improve access to banking services across remote and regional communities.

As a Community Engagement Manager, you'll work closely with customers, community organisations, Indigenous leaders, service providers and government stakeholders to strengthen financial inclusion, improve banking accessibility and deliver meaningful outcomes for individuals, families and communities. This role will play a key part in delivering Westpac's enhanced remote servicing and community engagement model, and will see you travel regularly to Tennant Creek and other remote NT communities to provide on-the-ground support. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate travel schedules, community needs and service delivery requirements is essential.

How will I help?

  • Build trusted relationships with customers, community groups and local stakeholders
  • Support vulnerable customers to access banking services and build confidence using digital banking tools
  • Deliver financial education and community engagement initiatives
  • Partner with Indigenous organisations, councils and service providers to identify local needs and opportunities
  • Represent Westpac within communities and advocate for positive customer outcomes
  • Contribute to outreach activities that strengthen access to banking in remote locations

What do I need?

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, customer advocacy, social services, financial inclusion, Indigenous engagement, relationship management or customer service
  • Strong stakeholder / relationship buildings skills with a warm, empathetic and agile approach
  • A passion for supporting Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Cultural awareness and a genuine appreciation for diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to work autonomously across geographically dispersed locations
  • Experience delivering education, coaching, or capability-building programs
  • Will for regular travel to Tennant Creek and other remote communities to provide on-the-ground support
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate travel schedules, community needs and service delivery requirements
