Position Summary

Parker Poe is seeking a Community Engagement and Employee Experience Coordinator to bring our culture to life through meaningful programs, events, volunteer initiatives, and firmwide experiences that support our Community Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Experience and Pro Bono values. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with attorneys, business professionals, community partners, and vendors to create welcoming, well-organized experiences that connect our people to each other, to the firm, and to the communities we serve. This role is ideal for someone who brings creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for planning meaningful experiences that will strengthen Parker Poe’s culture and reflect our commitment to the communities where we live and work.

This full-time position is based in the Firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. This role will require occasional day trips, overnight travel, early-morning or evening participation, and overtime to support programs and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Event and Program Coordination

  • Coordinate firmwide and office-based programs, events, volunteer initiatives, recognition efforts, training, committee activities, and other Talent team-led experiences.
  • Manage event logistics from planning through execution, including scheduling, registration, communications, materials, vendors, technology, meals, transportation, supplies, and day-of event set-up and support.
  • Create clear, engaging communications such as invitations, announcements, agendas, instructions, surveys, presentation materials, meeting notes, and follow-up messages.

Program Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain project plans, calendars, participant records, contact lists, budgets, shared resources, and program documentation.
  • Track participation, volunteer hours, engagement metrics, and program outcomes to support reporting, recognition, and continuous improvement.

Committee Support

  • Support committees, affinity groups, and program leaders by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, documenting action items, and monitoring follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, business professionals, community partners, and vendors to ensure successful execution of programs and initiatives.

Community Partnerships and Program Resources

  • Research community partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and program resources that align with Firm priorities and goals.
  • Help create consistent, inclusive, and engaging experiences across offices by building community relationships and developing practical resources, including templates, communications, and implementation materials for local office teams.

General Support

  • Provide responsive, high-quality customer service by addressing routine questions and directing sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate team member.
  • Collaborate with Talent team members and other departments as needed to support Talent and related initiatives. Serve as back-up for other Talent team coordinators when needed.
  • Use AI tools and emerging technology, where appropriate, to improve processes, streamline administrative work, and enhance program coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of event, program, employee engagement, community relations, or related experience, along with a bachelor’s degree in communications, human resources, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a law firm, professional services, non-profit, and multi-office environment preferred.
  • Highly organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple programs, events, deadlines, and stakeholders with accuracy and follow-through.
  • Strong written, verbal, proofreading, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, with a commitment to creating a positive participant experience.
  • Ability to build trusted working relationships with attorneys, business professionals, vendors, community partners, and firm leadership.

Sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to anticipate needs and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Forms required; knowledge of Canva or other graphic design platforms and AI tools preferred; familiarity with registration, survey, intranet, and reporting platforms preferred.
