Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders since 1885. Today, our 11,000-strong team of kaimahi and volunteer works across Aotearoa to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities. From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through our mahi in health education, access, and monitoring, we are making life-changing differences every day.

St John in Schools delivers a range of fun, interactive and engaging programmes teaching tamariki and rangatahi how to be lifesavers in an emergency, how to avoid injury, and about becoming guardians of wellbeing in their community. Our programmes have reached over 1.4 million tamariki since beginning in 2015!
We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a new Community Education Lead to oversee our programmes across the upper North Island. In this role, you will lead a team of 13 Educators working Northland to Waikato, across to Bay of Plenty and Taranaki supporting their performance and ensuring delivery of high-quality, education sessions that truly make a difference. This is a hybrid role, working from our Ellerslie office with some travel as needed across the wider region.

Hato Hone St John was founded in New Zealand in 1885 and is a part of the fabric of all communities throughout Aotearoa. St John is well known around the world for helping enrich the health and wellbeing of global communities. Although we operate and are funded entirely independently here in New Zealand, we’re proud to be a part of this important and long established Order.
