The Community Donation Site Driver/Attendant is responsible for transporting donations to mobile sites, safely operating the donation truck, and providing excellent customer service to donors. This role includes maintaining a clean, organized donation site, safeguarding donations, and representing Goodwill with professionalism in the community.
Provide professional and courteous service to all donors, ensuring a positive donation experience.
Safely drive the donation truck to and from mobile donation sites as scheduled.
Greet donors promptly and assist in unloading donations safely.
Issue accurate donation receipts upon request.
Sort donations by category (textiles, wares, salvage, trash, etc.) and place them in appropriate containers.
Safeguard donations until they are transported to the distribution center.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free donation site, including surrounding areas.
Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns immediately and complete necessary documentation.
Monitor donation containers to prevent overflow and notify supervisor when pickups are needed.
Serve as a positive ambassador of Goodwill’s mission in the community.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Requirement may be waived based on relevant experience or specialized skills.
Valid driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Ability to listen, follow instructions, and ask questions for clarity.
Previous retail, warehouse, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Frequent lifting, bending, and moving of donations.
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to work up to 8 hours per day.
Regular interaction with donors, customers, and the general public.
Daily contact with store managers, truck drivers, and transportation staff.
