Resurrection has an opening for a Community Development International (CDI) Director in the Ministries and Programs division! The position is part-time, exempt, and is located in Leawood at 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224. Please see below for a full job description.

In partnership with and consistent with the direction of the Church of the Resurrection and CDI Board of Directors, the CDI Director will serve as the chief strategist, relationship builder, and operational leader of CDI. The Director will steward the CDI mission, manage day-to-day operations, and cultivate partnerships within the church and global communities. The Director is responsible for the strategy, execution, budgeting and day-to-day oversight of global community development partners. The Director will work with the CDI Board of Directors to lead governance, compliance and all other activities and requirements of the non-profit entity.

Position-Specific

  • Lead CDI’s strategic planning and implementation in alignment with Church of the Resurrection’s mission and vision and CDI values and priorities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability across Resurrection, staff, board, Resurrection donor development, the Resurrectin Foundation, and global partners.
  • Represent the organization publicly and advocate for global community development initiatives.
  • Successfully run non-profit organization including governance, operations, staffing, reporting, marketing, budget, financial management, and fundraising outside of Resurrection’s members.
  • Develop and execute an operational playbook that leverages best practices of global community development. This will include identification and vetting of potential new partners and programs, fostering local design of community development programs led by local leaders of partner organizations, ensuring programs are culturally responsive, community-driven, and outcome-oriented with focus on local sustainability, and monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness and impact.
  • Collaborate with the Church of Resurrection and the Board to strengthen governance, strategic direction, and organizational capacity.
  • Manages the relationship with an NGO in Malawi, Opulence Malawi, with the potential of vetting future partnerships on the continent of Africa.
  • Partner with Resurrection in creating a model of community development that increases impact
  • Coordinating and executing donor development trips for participants outside of Resurrection on behalf of CDI.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Three or more years of demonstrated success in leadership in an equivalent field, with at least one year in management.
