Job Description

About the Classroom to Boardroom Foundation

The Classroom to Boardroom Foundation works directly with students, schools and businesses to overcome career barriers that are very often linked to economic disadvantage.

Our programmes are designed with students’ potential and career capability front of mind. We support secondary and post‑16 students at a key inflection point in their lives, when they first begin to consider their future career options seriously. Through our school partnerships, we deliver skills workshops, work experience opportunities and apprenticeship programmes, and we connect students and alumni to our global network of professional partners.

Our vision is a future where someone’s economic situation growing up does not limit their access to professional and personal success. We are building a growing community of students, alumni, schools and partner organisations who believe in, and actively contribute to, that mission.

About the role

We are looking for a Community Coordinator to play a central role in nurturing, growing and energising the Classroom to Boardroom Foundation community.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly people‑focused, thrives on building relationships, and enjoys being at the centre of a vibrant, purpose‑driven ecosystem. Rather than managing programmes end‑to‑end, this role focuses on connection, engagement and experience, ensuring students, alumni and school partners feel supported, valued and part of something bigger.

You will work closely with students, alumni, school partners, and internal colleagues, acting as a consistent, friendly, and trusted point of contact across the Foundation’s activities. As a small but impactful team, you’ll have genuine ownership and visibility, and the chance to shape how our community evolves over time.

Key responsibilities

Community & relationship building

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and alumni, acting as a key point of contact throughout their journey with the Foundation

  • Support alumni engagement by maintaining regular communication, encouraging participation in events, and helping foster a sense of ongoing belonging

  • Cultivate relationships with careers leads, teachers and school leaders to strengthen existing partnerships and support the growth of our school network

  • Expand relationships with complementary providers and third parties with similar missions

Student & alumni engagement

  • Organise and host student and alumni events (in‑person and virtual), creating welcoming, well‑run and inclusive experiences

  • Support the delivery of Foundation activities such as skills sessions, mentoring touchpoints and insight events, with a focus on smooth coordination and great participant experience

  • Be a visible, approachable presence at workshops and assemblies, supporting students and encouraging engagement

Communications & content

  • Create simple, engaging community communications, including presentations, newsletters, event materials and social media content

  • Help share student and alumni stories to celebrate progress, achievements and impact

  • Maintain accurate records and contact information to support effective communication and follow‑up

Internal collaboration

  • Work closely with internal colleagues to align community activity with Foundation priorities and share the message across the wider Kernel group

What we’re looking for

We don’t expect you to tick every box, but you’re likely to thrive in this role if you bring many of the following:

  • A genuine passion for social mobility, education and creating opportunities for young people

  • A people‑first mindset - you enjoy building relationships and supporting individuals over time

  • Confidence communicating with a wide range of audiences, including students, teachers and professional partners

  • Comfort presenting or facilitating sessions with groups (or a clear desire to build this confidence)

  • A proactive, self‑starting approach, with the ability to take ownership in a small team

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple moving parts

  • An empathetic, approachable and supportive style

  • High attention to detail, particularly around events, communications and follow‑up

What you’ll get

  • A high‑performance but human working environment - we take our impact seriously, but not ourselves

  • Health cash plan, mental wellbeing support and discounted gym membership

  • Regular team socials and group-wide events

  • Discretionary bonus up to 15%

  • Exposure to a dynamic commercial business setting with support from hands-on mentorship and management.

If people and purpose sit at the heart of what you do, and you’re excited by the idea of supporting and growing a mission‑driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
