Job Description

Job Location: Torrance Campus - Torrance, CA 90502
Position Type: FT 100% - 40 hours per week (FT Benefit)
Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00 Hourly

Description About Us: The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a leading nonprofit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. Affiliated with UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and partnered with Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, our investigators conduct cutting-edge research in areas including rare diseases, gene and cell therapies, metabolic disorders, and more. Through strong collaborations with community partners, CTSI, and the CIRM Alpha Clinic Network, we translate discoveries into real-world health solutions, improving outcomes for underserved populations and advancing equitable access to innovative treatments.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, community organizing, social sciences, or related field preferred
- Two years’ minimum experience in community outreach, event coordination, or partnership management
- Experience working with community-based organizations (CBOs)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of community engagement principles and practices in research/health settings
- Ability to coordinate meetings, events, and activities with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to collect and report evaluation metrics for community programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, CBOs, and participants
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to equity in health outreach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, reporting, and materials development
- Ability to travel for community events and meetings
- Demonstrated cooperative behavior and positive problem-solving skills
- Available to work a dependable, flexible shift
Basic Duties and Responsibilities or Purpose of Position:
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and activities with community-based organizations (CBOs), participants, speakers, and community leaders
- Roll out community programs, educational events, and outreach initiatives for SoLA-CCERM
- Collect formal, metric-driven evaluations of community activities and partnerships
- Support liaison activities with CBO partners and patient advocacy groups
- Assist in developing and distributing outreach materials and coordinating events
- Facilitate bidirectional communication between SoLA-CCERM leadership and community partners
- Contribute to building partnerships and mobilization efforts across service planning areas
- Contributes to the overall success of the SoLA-CCERM program by performing all other duties as assigned.
