Seeking upbeat, humorous, and confident individuals with a passion for building community connections and military history!

I am a middle-aged man who has recently moved to South Australia and am hoping to connect with my local community & see more of Adelaide. I have a keen interest in history, specifically military history, aviation, building scale models, cooking global food, and am seeking support to build community connections, as well as the confidence to engage with my community independently.

I’m an honest communicator with a great sense of humour and would love to connect with my local RSL, explore volunteering at the museum, or connect with similar interest groups in my area.

What I need from you is: empathy, reliability, honesty & an ability to provide support in a way that builds my confidence, capacity & independence.

The Role:

As a support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in helping me get around and self-direct my dedicated support team. You will be supporting me both at home and out in my community to pursue my vision for my life. A positive attitude and exceptional listening skills will make all the difference.

Prior experience supporting someone with a visual impairment is a plus but not mandatory.

This role commences at level 2.1 casual rate of $43.23 per hour. I I would like to build a support team of 3 people to work across a 6-day roster, or approximately 12 hours per week.

Hours:

• Mondays: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

• Tuesdays: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

• Wednesdays: 4:00pm – 10:00pm

• Thursdays: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

• Fridays: 3:00pm – 8:00pm

• Saturdays: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain

• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

• A current NDIS Worker Check

• First Aid Certificate

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
