Implement and administer necessary and appropriate transition services for students with special needs who have socially graduated and have chosen to continue accessing secondary services. Typically these are students 18-21 years of age. Provide oversight of transition services and IEP compliance issues for high school students with special needs. Requirements of the Transition Specialist position are governed by the transition regulations found in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
