Casual Community Care Worker

  • Salary commencing at $44.26 per hour (Inclusive of 25% casual loading) plus 11.5% superannuation

Aged & Disability Services Department

Council’s Aged & Disability Services department provides a comprehensive range of support services, community linkage, advice and referral to assist residents who are either frail aged, have a disability or who are a primary carer, to remain connected, valued and safe within their chosen communities and within their homes. These services are vital to the quality of life enjoyed by individuals and families within Moonee Valley and operate as part of a complex service system funded through Commonwealth, State and Local government.

The Opportunity

Providing high-quality assistance and support to clients, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Domestic Assistance
  • Personal Care- Assistance with grooming and personal hygiene
  • Social Support/Escorted shopping & appointments
  • Respite Care – In home or engage client in community access
  • Community Meal Delivery
  • Community Transport

You will be working with clients under 65yrs, and over 65yrs with diverse needs and support required. The successful candidates will be inducted and trained in all responsibilities required of the role. Days and hours of service delivery are Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm.

Certificates, Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • We are looking for individuals who are empathetic and passionate about caring for and supporting people to live independently in their own homes.
  • Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate IV in Ageing Support or Certificate in Home and Community Care or Certificate IV in Disability Support
  • Previous experience in Aged and Disability services is desirable
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Registered, Road worthy and Insured vehicle
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Good computer & mobile device skills
  • Current working rights
