Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 / hour
Schedule: Full Time | 40 hours per week | Varying weekdays, occasional weekends

What You'll Do In This Role:
Make a meaningful difference every day as a Bus Driver, providing safe and caring transportation for residents in a wheelchair-accessible van. You'll build positive relationships while helping residents travel comfortably and confidently to their destinations. If you're dependable, compassionate, and enjoy working with older adults, this is a rewarding opportunity with a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Safety
- Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van to transport residents to destinations.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including wheelchair secured seat belts.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the van interior and exterior.
- Report accidents, incidents, or unusual resident concerns immediately.
Rider Assistance
- Assist residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing wheelchairs using appropriate systems.
- Provide courteous and respectful interaction with all passengers, demonstrating patience and empathy.
Scheduling & Communication
- Provide reliable, punctual service and maintain an accurate schedule.
- Maintain communication with Porter Hills Village and Cook Valley Estates regarding schedule updates or resident concerns.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately complete daily logs, mileage reports, and incident documentation as needed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Valid driver's license – chauffeur and a clean driving record, required.
- Prior experience work with seniors or individuals with disabilities, preferred.
- Familiarity with safe operation of wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and assist clients safely as needed
- Ability to use common operation equipment.
