About the role:

The Community and SEG Manager Serves as the primary liaison between community partners, select employer groups (SEG), HR contacts, branch leadership, Marketing, Membership Development Officers, and subject matter experts. In this role the Community and Seg Manager leader is accountable for building a high-performing outreach culture that supports Lafayette’s mission to Serve, Support, and Empower members and communities. The Role is responsible for community engagement, strategic partnerships, select employer group (SEG) growth, business development, lead generation, brand awareness, and cross collaboration. Requirements

• Community Engagement and Brand Awareness: Lead and execute community engagement strategies that strengthen Lafayette Federal Credit Union’s visibility, reputation, and presence within its trade areas. This function focuses on building meaningful community relationships, increasing brand awareness, generating qualified opportunities, and positioning the credit union as a trusted financial partner through strategic events, partnerships, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives.
• Select Employer Group (SEG) Development and Growth: Lead the development, expansion, and ongoing management of Lafayette Federal Credit Union’s Select Employer Group (SEG) portfolio. This function focuses on acquiring new SEG partnerships, strengthening existing relationships, reactivating dormant SEGs, and converting employer partnerships into measurable membership, deposit, lending, and engagement growth.
• Relationship Management & Follow-Up: Build, strengthen, and maintain meaningful relationships with community organizations, strategic partners, and key stakeholders to maximize the long-term value of Lafayette Federal Credit Union’s community engagement efforts. This function ensures that outreach extends beyond individual events by establishing consistent communication, structured follow-up, and clear next steps that convert relationships into measurable engagement and business opportunities.
• Internal Collaboration & Coaching:
• Build, strengthen, and maintain meaningful relationships with community organizations, strategic partners, and key stakeholders to maximize the long-term value of Lafayette Federal Credit Union’s community engagement efforts. This function ensures that outreach extends beyond individual events by establishing consistent communication, structured follow-up, and clear next steps that convert relationships into measurable engagement and business opportunities. consistent use of CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) to monitor pipeline health, track activity, and maintain data integrity.
• Pipeline Management: Provide regular community engagement and partnership pipeline reviews with team members to assess upcoming events, partnership opportunities, community leads, and follow-up activities. Identify barriers and ensure opportunities are effectively converted into measurable membership, deposit, loan, and brand-awareness outcomes. Analyze engagement metrics to identify trends, gaps, and high-potential relationships, and implement targeted strategies to strengthen community partnerships, improve lead generation and follow-up, and align results with goals established by the Vice President of Business Development.

Qualifications:

• Three to eight years of similar or related experience.
• (1) A bachelor's degree or related job experience or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
• Work involves extensive personal contact with others, often addressing personal or sensitive matters.
• Success in this role relies on emotional intelligence to effectively motivate, influence, and train others, adapting communication to resonate with diverse perspectives and needs.
• Establishing strong relationships with external contacts is essential, requiring both diplomacy and empathy to influence or promote ideas and services.
• This role demands the ability to build trust and rapport, fostering mutually beneficial relationships with individuals and organizations.

Pay: $88,000 - $110,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
