HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The opportunity

Reporting to the area Place Manager, the Community & Land Access Coordinator plays a key role in enabling safe and respectful access to land for project delivery. You will assist in developing mitigation measures to minimise the impact of construction activities to landowners and local communities. You will build strong relationships, coordinate access arrangements and support community engagement activities across the project.

Please note this role will be site based requiring FIFO on a 10:4 Roster, where additional allowances will apply. Local based applicants would be highly considered.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for landholders and community impacted by the project, building trusted and respectful relationships
  • Coordinate interactions between landholders and project teams, including survey, environmental and construction teams
  • Liaise with landholders to understand property-specific issues and support community engagement activities
  • Coordinate land access requests, notices and enquiries with landowners, project teams
  • Coordinate and record property access, biosecurity and field safety arrangements for project teams
  • Monitor implementation and adherence to Property Management Plans

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong experience in frontline landholder liaison activities, property or easement maintenance services
  • Agricultural/rural background
  • Experience dealing and negotiating positive outcomes with small communities and agricultural landowners
  • Understanding and experience with the legislation, regulatory frameworks, and procedures governing land access and safety in NSW
  • High level of communication, organisational and time management skills
  • High level of written and record-keeping skills
  • Cooperative approach to working in a team
  • Willingness to travel

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
