Context and why we are recruiting?
As business and government leaders navigate growing societal and governance complexity, the Civil Society and Responsible Governance team provides actionable insights, trusted civil society perspectives and multistakeholder platforms that strengthen governance, integrity and trust. The team delivers this mandate by managing the Forum’s institutional relationships with the world’s most influential and impactful civil society organizations, leading multistakeholder initiatives central to the Forum’s governance, business integrity and trust agenda, and curating high level events and knowledge products that accelerate public private cooperation.
The Community and Knowledge Specialist position will be responsible for managing institutional relationships with key civil society actors across a variety of sectors; accelerating civil society impact across the Forum’s Centres, platforms and leadership communities; and driving knowledge and impact activities related to the team’s responsible governance agenda.
Reporting line and how is this role embedded in the wider team?
The role will report to the Head of Civil Society and Responsible Governance.
Internally, this person will work with colleagues from across the team and organisation to ensure strong integration of the team’s constituents and thematic agendas across the Forum’s Centres, initiatives and activities; and externally, with a broad range of stakeholders in civil society in the team’s Sustainability and Resilience portfolio, including a strong focus on nongovernmental organizations working on climate and nature; energy and materials; humanitarian assistance and urban resilience issues; and additionally, faith based organizations and religious leaders.
What will you be responsible for?
Community engagement: Lead the management and engagement of priority civil society constituents, developing strategic value propositions and connecting their expertise and perspectives to relevant Forum Centres, initiatives, events and leadership communities.
Responsible governance knowledge leadership: Serve as a knowledge partner to the team by identifying, synthesizing and translating research, emerging trends, case studies and stakeholder perspectives related to governance, business integrity, trust, social licence and civil society impact into actionable insights that strengthen the team’s strategy, initiatives and knowledge products.
Impact: Drive community activities such as Faith in Action and support the development and delivery of other priorities across the Forum’s governance, integrity and trust agenda.
Communications: Develop clear briefings, presentations and other materials that communicate the team’s insights, initiatives and impact to internal and external audiences.
What core knowledge, skills and experience are we looking to add to our team?
Domain Knowledge and Experience
Broad intellectual background with a Master’s degree or equivalent in public policy, international affairs, governance, political science, business and society, development studies or another relevant field.
5-6 years of relevant professional experience, spanning research, policy, strategic advisory, knowledge development, programme design or multistakeholder engagement.
Ability to develop strategic relationships with leading civil society organizations and deepen their engagement across the Forum’s Centres, initiatives and leadership communities
Experience in strategic partnerships and relationship management, including proven ability to engage at senior executive and C-suite level
Core Skills
Excellent communication skills and command of English; fluency in another language is a plus
Ability to connect the dots in a complex, fast-paced matrix environment, with a strong service and entrepreneurial attitude and ability to navigate ambiguity
Strong research and analytical capabilities, with experience synthesizing diverse evidence, identifying emerging trends and translating complex material into actionable insights, strategic recommendations and high quality knowledge products
