Job Title: Community Ambassador
Pay Range: $20.00 to $20.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)
Shift Specifics:
- 1st shift 6am to 2:40pm
- 2nd shift 2pm to 10:40pm

At Block by Block, we employ Ambassadors to make public spaces better by making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner for the communities we serve.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Traverse the designated zone on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to provide a high level of visibility and to carry out a variety of tasks to improve the overall appearance and safety of the area.
- Engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile to provide directions and city info.
- Use a bag and picker to remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, etc. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, etc. Clean outdoor surfaces.
- Pulls weeds from the base of trees, in cracks in the sidewalks/lots, etc.
- Operates a pressure washer to clean sidewalks, streets, and other areas.
- Operate a kaboda or litter vacuum to sweep up litter, debris, leaves, etc.
- Firmly and courteously request compliance from persons committing low-level crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
- Identifies unhoused individuals in need, establishes relationships, and introduces them to agencies to help meet their needs. Establishes mutual respect to reduce the public nuisance perception of homelessness.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.
- Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
