Manager - Community Affairs

The Manager, Community Affairs will lead community engagement efforts across Pennsylvania, supporting Talen Energy’s commitment to strong local partnerships and positive stakeholder relationships. This role will serve as a key liaison between company operations, government affairs and external communications and the communities where Talen currently operates or is looking to develop a presence. The individual will develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders and organizations, create opportunities to promote Talen and raise its visibility in the community and foster a positive, strong reputation for Talen.

At Talen Energy, your work directly supports safe, reliable power generation. In this role, you’ll move beyond day‑to‑day contributions to drive meaningful change by:

  • Develop and execute community engagement strategies aligned with business objectives

  • Build relationships with local leaders, community organizations, workforce partners, and stakeholders

  • Coordinate community investment initiatives, sponsorships, and events

  • Support plant leadership with local outreach and stakeholder communications

  • Represent the company at community meetings, public events, and forums

  • Monitor local issues and sentiment that may impact company operations or reputation

  • Partner with government affairs and communications teams to align messaging and engagement

  • Support economic development and workforce initiatives in local markets

What You Have

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, communications, or stakeholder engagement

  • Experience working with local governments or community organizations

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities

  • Experience in energy, industrial, or regulated environments preferred
