Job Description

Community Advisory Board Liaison

Department: Behavioral Health

Employment Type: Part Time

Location: East Providence - Adams Farley

Reporting To: Vice President of Substance Use Disorders

Description

Help put community voice at the center of behavioral health care

EBCAP's Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) is built on a simple idea: the people we serve should help shape how we serve them. Our Community Advisory Board (CAB) brings together clients, families, advocates, and community partners to guide our work. We're looking for a skilled connector and facilitator to make sure their voices lead to real change.

As CAB Liaison, you'll be the bridge between the board and CCBHC leadership. You'll run productive, welcoming meetings, turn community feedback into concrete improvements, and show the community how their input is making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Lead the CAB meeting cycle: build agendas, prepare materials, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Turn feedback into action: document CAB recommendations, route them to the right teams, and track progress through to measurable outcomes.
  • Keep leadership informed: report on the status of recommendations and make sure CAB perspectives are part of strategic planning, service design, and evaluation.
  • Build a strong, representative board: recruit, screen, and onboard new members, and keep current members engaged and informed.
  • Collaborate across the organization: work with clinical, quality, and operations staff to answer CAB questions and follow up on priorities.
  • Keep good records: maintain membership, attendance, recommendations, and outcomes to support audits, grant reporting, and quality monitoring.
  • Engage the wider community: coordinate events, presentations, and public forums that build trust and visibility.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder coordination, advocacy, behavioral health, or a related field
  • Experience facilitating groups or coordinating advisory boards, coalitions, or similar bodies
  • Experience tracking projects, documenting outcomes, and coordinating follow-up across teams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Confident facilitation that draws out different viewpoints and moves groups toward consensus
  • Excellent organization and follow-through, even with competing deadlines
  • Sound judgment with confidential and sensitive information
  • A culturally and linguistically responsive approach to community engagement

Job Benefits

For Full-Time Employees Working 30-40 hours per week, EBCAP offers:

  • Comprehensive medical and dental insurance plans (BCBSRI) with heavy subsidization
  • Supplemental vision insurance
  • Voluntary medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts

  • Employer-paid life insurance
  • Generous paid time off including vacation, holidays, personal days, and sick time

About East Bay Community Action Program

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is a private, non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. The mission of EBCAP is to provide high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health and human services to assist people to achieve their fullest potential.

In 2016 EBCAP merged with East Bay Center (EBC), a state recognized Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and Integrated Health Home. Given that the two were recognized at the local, state, and national levels as premier providers, the transformation and merger into a single organization greatly enhanced the level of expertise and expanded the breadth and depth of services that EBCAP could offer to the communities it serves.

With this merger, EBCAP received provisional approval by the state as an Accountable Care Entity, an in-house partnership of medical, dental, behavioral health, and social service providers working together to create a shared culture of collaboration and transformation of the health care system. The ACE will focus on supporting high quality care, enhancing health information technology, and experiencing shared savings through agreements with major Medicaid providers, such as Neighborhood Health Plan of RI.

EBCAP is proud to provide a full array of services including integrated family health, behavioral, and dental services; Head Start and Early Head Start; Women, Infants and Children; family development; Healthy Families America home visiting; Heating and Energy Assistance; Victims of Crime Act information and referral services; and much more!

The vision of EBCAP is to be recognized as the premier human service agency in the east bay.
