Work Environment

The Volkswagen Communications traineeship is a two-year training program certified by the German Academy for Public Relations (DAPR). During the program, you will learn how to plan and implement communication projects for a globally operating automotive company. You will work in various departments within Volkswagen Communications. A traineeship with a focus on data analysis provides in‑depth knowledge of both the media industry and data analytics. As a communications expert, you will analyze, interpret, and visualize data—with the goal of advising other communication teams. We look forward to receiving your application.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing data with the goal of advising other communications teams
  • Carrying out a project within our Data Intelligence Team
  • Over the course of the program, you will independently work on up to four additional projects in various communications departments. During these assignments, you will get to know different process partners
  • Planning and implementing a wide range of communication topics and projects, supporting operational and strategic communication work, organizing and accompanying media appointments of various formats, supporting communication at another corporate location

Qualification requirements

  • Completed Master’s degree in Media/Communication, ideally with a focus on data analysis, statistics, data‑driven marketing, or a related field
  • Analytical mindset and enjoyment of working with data
  • Experience in analyzing datasets and initial experience in data visualization using Python, R, or another data analysis language
  • Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Tableau is an advantage
  • Knowledge and skills related to journalistic formats and communication channels
  • At least six months of practical experience through relevant internships
  • German and English language proficiency at C1 level
  • Above‑average communication and writing skills
  • Team‑oriented and self‑reliant work style
  • Confident and communicative demeanor
  • Class B driver’s license
