The Defense Sector within Leidos develops and produces advanced space, aerial, surface, and sub-surface manned and un-manned capabilities. We achieve this through advanced platform and systems integration, rapid systems modernization, repeatable mission software offerings, and intelligence and data rationalization that turns information into actionable insight.

Leidos is seeking an exceptionally capable Communications Systems Support Specialist to take on a pivotal role in the critical mission of USSTRATCOM/J7 at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE. This is a rare opportunity to directly strengthen national‑level readiness and shape the training that drives some of the most consequential operations in the Department of Defense. An active TS/SCI is required.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with eligibility for NC2/ESI and Special Access Program (SAP) access (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).

Note: This position is part of a prospective contract and is contingent upon final award. Anticipated award date: August 2026.

Step into a role where your technical expertise directly fuels mission success. As a Communications Systems Support Specialist, you will:

  • Define, plan, and configure automation and communications systems for exercises and training events that prepare warfighters for real‑world operations.

  • Operate communications systems during training, exercises, and real‑world event preparation, ensuring seamless, secure, and reliable mission execution.

  • Support users across audio, video, VTC, and data systems during training, exercises, and real‑world event preparation.

  • Work with a wide range of mission‑essential systems, including: secure/non‑secure telephones, DRSN, audio recorders, ECC, AMX video displays, DICES audio controllers, JIMDITS, multimedia video walls, GOLD, JWICS, GCCS‑J, VOIP terminals, STEN, NPES, and multi‑classification VTC systems.

  • Prepare and update communications data for all training events and scenarios.

  • Coordinate, schedule, maintain, test, and configure JTECC and conference room systems while maintaining configuration management documentation for all communications systems in JTECC and USSTRATCOM/J7 spaces.

  • Provide JECG augmentation during training, exercises, and real‑world event preparation.

  • Serve as a communications facilitator and role player as required to support mission‑focused training.

  • Manage laptop computers — this duty requires a Security+ certification

Required Qualifications

You’ll excel in this role if you bring deep operational communications experience and a passion for supporting high‑stakes mission readiness. Candidates must:

  • Possess 10 years of experience demonstrating a thorough understanding of communications systems operations and conferencing.

  • Have at least 5 years of communications expertise gained through duties supporting one or more of the following missions:

    • USSTRATCOM GOC

    • Airborne Command Post (ABNCP)

    • National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
