Hours: 24 hours per week
An experienced Communications & Strategy Advisor is required to support a large-scale infrastructure and road expansion program. The role focuses on developing and executing internal and external communication strategies, managing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring effective communication throughout complex construction and infrastructure activities.
The ideal candidate combines strategic communication expertise with hands-on execution, political sensitivity, and experience working within multidisciplinary project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Communication Strategy & Advisory
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve project communication plans.
- Translate political and administrative developments into effective communication strategies.
- Advise project leadership and environmental management teams on communication matters.
- Monitor current events and align communication activities accordingly.
Stakeholder & Project Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, project teams, municipalities, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between communication activities and project milestones.
- Serve as the primary contact for external communication agencies.
- Support collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
Content Development & Digital Communication
- Create and manage communication materials, including:
- Press releases
- Newsletters
- Factsheets
- Website and intranet content
- Flyers and construction information materials
- Presentation materials and Q&A documents
- Support online communication platforms and visitor information centers.
Events & Public Engagement
- Organize and coordinate webinars, public information sessions, and project events.
- Support construction open days and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Manage public inquiries and contribute to community relations initiatives.
Internal Communication
- Strengthen internal collaboration and team engagement.
- Support internal communication campaigns and team-building activities.
- Promote a proactive communication culture within the project organization.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Professional Education (HBO) degree in Communication or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal and external project communications.
- Several years of experience as a Project Communications Advisor within infrastructure, area development, or large construction projects.
- Proven ability to combine strategic advisory responsibilities with operational execution.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder management and environmental sensitivity.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on complex infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Experience involving extensive political and administrative stakeholder coordination.
- Knowledge of road expansion or large-scale public works programs.
- Experience with digital communication platforms, social media, and content management systems.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and basic multimedia production (filming/vlogging is an advantage).
- Experience working within large program-based organizations.
