Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels, including websites, landing pages, articles, email, social media, webinars, direct mail, brochures, mobile app, display, programmatic, social, search advertising, sponsored content, out-of-home, print, radio, streaming media, and press releases.
  • Coordinate day-to-day content execution in alignment with the content calendar, ensuring message consistency across programs and audiences, on-time publication, and effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor all internal and external communications to ensure alignment with brand standards, voice, and guidelines.
  • Produce internal communications content such as newsletters, presentations, and executive summaries for various stakeholders.
  • Participate in department strategic planning for areas of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in public relations, marketing, communications, advertising or related field
  • Experience managing mid to large-sized projects and leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing marketing plans and drafting complex communications internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to large, diverse audiences in person or online
  • Strong digital marketing knowledge, including SEO, paid media, social media, email marketing, and web analytics
  • Ability to independently prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with analytics tools, tag management, social media dashboards, and marketing automation platforms Demonstrated ability to maintain brand consistency and quality across all communications channels
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make sound decisions independently
  • Ability to analyze information, draw appropriate conclusions and communicate results

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position
  • Must be able to occasionally move around the building or other public venues
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying
  • Frequently communicate with employees and members of the public either in person or online; must be able to exchange accurate information accordingly
  • Occasionally bend and squat to lift or move boxes or supplies
  • Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to 20 pounds independently
  • Periodic travel required

The Virginia General Assembly is comprised of the 100-member House of Delegates and the 40-member Senate. A governor and lieutenant governor are elected every 4 years. Governors cannot be elected to or serve consecutive terms. Virginia’s judicial system consists of the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia, the Circuit Courts, and the lower General District Courts and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts. Virginia has 13 electoral votes in presidential elections, and possesses 11 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
