Job Description

SUMMARY

The Communications Specialist IV is responsible for assisting with writing and communication projects that support a cohesive federal communication strategy which includes workforce communications for civilians and military and external public affairs opportunities. Plans and implements communication strategies.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess appropriate level of certifications for this position as required by the contract.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implements integrated communication strategies across social media, media relations, email campaigns, and related channels.
  • Coaches and mentors communications team members.
  • Develops and delivers communications materials aligned with branding, messaging, and digital strategies.
  • Communicates effectively with project stakeholders through clear, professional written and verbal engagement.
  • Produces high-quality client deliverables.
  • Supports public events, internal agency events, media relations, knowledge management, and preservation of agency history.
  • Elevates brand awareness through events, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and manages complex tasks and projects.
  • May serve as Team Lead, providing training and mentorship to junior staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven plus (7+) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
