COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALISTUniversity of Alabama at Birmingham This position is a member of the HR Communications Team and primarily supports Learning and Development initiatives while also providing communication support across all HR functional areas. The role serves as a representative on the UAB Campus Communicators Team and is responsible for ensuring all HR communications align with UAB branding standards, messaging strategies, and established communication guidelines. General ResponsibilitiesThe Communications Specialist supports the creation and delivery of clear, accurate, and engaging communications.This role produces written, digital, and visual content across a variety of platforms and ensures alignment with institutional brand standards.The position requires strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupports unit-wide communications initiatives by gathering information, preparing materials, and coordinating distribution using university-approved platforms and tools.Drafts, edits, and produces content for channels that may include web, email, social media, video, newsletters, and print publications.Tracks and reports on engagement metrics to evaluate communications effectiveness.Provides logistical and administrative support for communication projects and initiatives.Collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders to implement communications projects and initiatives.Performs other duties as assigned. Additional DutiesMedia writing and editing/proofreading, web management (CMS), email communications and newsletters, social media, basic graphic design and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.Understanding of digital accessibility standards and how to create digitally accessible content is also a plus. Salary Range $47,665-$71,800
EducationBachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
