The City of Pearland Communications Specialist
General Statement of Job
Under the general direction of the Lead Communications Specialist, the Communications Specialist supports various City Departments in planning and organizing a comprehensive public information, media-relations and communications program through public outreach and education programs. The successful candidate will be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Canva, and Photoshop, have excellent writing skills, and be able to respond effectively to service requests from City departments. Work flexible hours; some evening and/or weekend work required. Perform other related work as required.
The successful candidate will:
Education, Experience, and Licenses
Requires a Bachelor's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of four years of college in communications, graphic design, marketing, or closely related field.
Requires one to three years of communications, graphic design, marketing, or closely related experience.
Valid, Class C Texas Driver's License, required.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
