
PURPOSE:
The Communication Specialist assists the Vice President Communications and Community Engagement through oversight and implementation of the SCC Communications Plan including overall project management for awareness campaigns, and implementation of communications strategies to amplify SCC’s brand and relationships through content creation for social media, print campaigns, promotional collateral, agency newsletters etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading, and editing. Minimum 2 years’ professional experience. Work-related experience in nonprofit development a plus. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools. Must have meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects by deadlines. Excellent work ethic, time management, and organizational skills. Experience in web design and content production, photo and video editing, and a portfolio of work for review is a plus.
