Language Requirement - Fluent in English — Exceptional Written & Verbal Proficiency (Mandatory)

MANDATORY LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Fluency in English is a non-negotiable requirement for this role. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Near-native or native-level written English — flawless grammar, punctuation, and style

  • Ability to adapt tone and register — from formal press releases to conversational social media copy
  • Strong editing and proofreading ability — zero tolerance for errors in published content

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Communications & Content

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals and brand identity
  • Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of content including press releases, speeches, executive communications, reports, newsletters, and briefing notes — all in flawless English
  • Craft compelling narratives and messaging frameworks for internal and external audiences
  • Produce annual reports, corporate brochures, and other institutional publications
  • Develop talking points, presentations, and keynote scripts for senior leadership

Media Relations & Public Affairs

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries; build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and broadcasters
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and official statements
  • Monitor media coverage, prepare media reports, and respond to enquiries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and interviews with senior spokespeople
  • Manage crisis communications — develop response protocols and draft statements under pressure

Digital & Social Media Communications

  • Manage and grow the organization's presence across digital platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Create engaging, audience-appropriate English-language content for social media, blogs, and the corporate website
  • Monitor digital sentiment, track engagement metrics, and produce regular performance reports
  • Manage the editorial calendar and ensure consistent, timely publishing of content
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce multimedia content including infographics, videos, and e-mailers

Internal Communications

  • Develop and manage internal communication channels — intranet, staff newsletters, townhall presentations, and email campaigns
  • Support leadership in communicating organizational changes, milestones, and announcements effectively
  • Foster a culture of transparent communication across departments and hierarchies
  • Collaborate with HR on employer branding initiatives and culture-building campaigns

Events & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute communications for corporate events, launches, forums, and CSR initiatives
  • Liaise with government bodies, NGOs, community partners, and industry associations as required
  • Prepare and manage communication budgets for campaigns and events
  • Track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of all communications activities

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent storytelling ability with a flair for translating complex information into clear, engaging content
  • Strong media literacy and understanding of the editorial and news landscape
  • Proficiency in digital communications, social media management, and content marketing
  • Experience with communications tools: Mailchimp, HubSpot, Hootsuite, Canva, or similar platforms
