YOU ARE THE LIFELINE:
- Handle emergency and routine calls (phone/radio).
- Dispatch Public Safety Officers instantly.
- Monitor fire alarms, camera feeds, and use crucial systems like NCIC/JNET.
- Maintain vital communication between officers, the community, and external agencies.
Job Duties:
This role reports to the Supervisor, Communications & Security Technology.
On campus student facing.
Up to 17 hours per week across three different shifts.
Emergency Response/Communications Answers telephone and radio calls. Collects information and dispatches the appropriate emergency personnel to incidents, alarms and emergencies.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintains accurate operation logs in accordance with federal emergency communication regulations.
Security Monitoring & Emergency Alerting: Monitors and operates the University camera and surveillance systems. Monitors fire, intrusion, trouble and panic alarms. Alerts emergency personnel as appropriate.
Support Services: Assists residential support services resolve student access and parking issues.
Evidence &Information Retrieval: Searches recording logs to support officer requests.
Data Maintenance & Integrity: Updates the campus buildings address locations, GPS readings and buildings type in the database used in University information programs and systems.
After-Hours Operations & Maintenance Coordination: Submits computerized work orders to the Facilities Department for repairs on campus. Coordinates personnel for routine and emergency calls after hours.
Non Essential Functions: The job description's listed responsibilities and task are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Education Vocational or Technical Training or Degree.
Work Experience: Up to one year or more in law enforcement, security, safety or dispatch training or related field.
Licensures & Certifications: Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Telecommunications Certification; APCO Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification; CPR/First-Aid Certification.
All Public Safety employees are Campus Security Authorities as defined by the Clery Act.
Note: This position is classified as Category I for exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
This is a non-benefits eligible job.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
