The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is looking for a Communications Officer to join our Communications Department in Barcelona. We are seeking someone with experience in social media management and video production, and an interest in communicating science and global health in a clear and engaging way.
The selected candidate will work closely with researchers and colleagues across the organisation to create content for different audiences and channels. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is comfortable managing different projects and tasks at the same time.
Manage and create content for ISGlobal's social media channels.
Produce audiovisual content.
Manage and update websites and blogs.
Design communication materials and visual assets.
Create and manage newsletters and email communications.
Maintain and update contact databases.
Write press releases and other communication materials.
Support media relations and respond to media inquiries.
Provide support to the Communications team across ongoing activities and projects.

Experience creating and managing social media content
Graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign...)

Excellent writing and proof-reading skills
Good journalistic criteria for the curation of news
Familiarity with CMS / CRM platforms
Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Experience in web & community management.
Experience in video production and graphic design.
Previous experience in global health or science communication will be valued.
Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Fluency in Catalan will be valued.
Contract: permanent contract
Salary: 30.000 - 35.000 € gross annual
Work-Life Balance: 36 days off per year (23 vacation days + 13 personal days)

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Technical skills assessment test (practical exercise)
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
