About the Team:
This role sits within our Global E-commerce Communications team and will serve as the market lead for TikTok Shop Malaysia. You will work closely with the local TikTok Shop Operations, Business and Product teams as well as cross-functional legal, policy and governance & experience teams.
This role will play an instrumental role in shaping TikTok Shop's growth in Malaysia, with the opportunity to develop local narratives and design communications campaigns that align with broader business goals and support local business communities.
This role must be based in Kuala Lumpur.

We're seeking a dynamic and strategic communicator to drive compelling storytelling for TikTok Shop in Malaysia. In this role, you'll leverage data-driven and human-centric storytelling to showcase the positive impact that TikTok Shop is creating for merchants, small businesses and local communities in Malaysia.
As a brand custodian, you will serve as a key partner and advisor to business and product teams on a range of topics including product positioning, messaging and issue management, while factoring in Malaysia's regulatory environment and market trends.

Responsibilities:
- Lead strategy and execution for TikTok Shop communications in Malaysia, and be the first point of contact for local operations and business teams.
- Craft clear, compelling narratives that advance TikTok Shop's business goals and resonate with sellers, creators, and shoppers.
- Build strong relationships with top-tier business, consumer and trade media, proactively securing coverage, managing inquiries, and managing sensitive news cycles and issues as they arise.
- Work cross-functionally with regional and global communications teams to develop and implement proactive communications campaigns and local narratives to spotlight our business product, partnerships and vision.
- Prepare and train spokespeople and subject-matter experts, equipping them with concise messaging for external engagements including interviews and in-person events.
- Review TikTok Shop external-facing content including seller communications, presentations, promotions for accuracy and reputational risks.
- Serve as the primary communications point-of-contact for local cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, policy, legal, partnerships), ensuring message alignment and advising on market trends, potential risks, and opportunities specific to the Malaysia market.
