What you’ll be doing
Advance the reputation of Lloyds Banking Group - helping Britain prosper through creation and delivery of innovative and creative communication plans that evidence effective storytelling, are fully integrated, multi-channel and build pride in the Group.

Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) is an award-winning team that provides the insight, counsel, and challenge the Group needs to deliver its strategic objectives. We deliver best-in-class communications for key audiences, ensuring Lloyds Banking Group is recognised for helping Britain prosper.

You’ll be guiding and advising on the corporate communications for Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) that serve approximately one million of UK's businesses.

Reporting into the Director of Communications for Commercial, you'll help set out and guide external and internal communications activity. From finding compelling stories to tell, leading integrated campaigns, through to inbound enquiries from politicians and media and delivering townhalls - no two days are the same! You'll play a big role in supporting our Commercial teams with our growth priorities as we are helping Britain prosper.

A little bit more about what you'll be doing:

  • Define and deliver integrated communications strategies to support the Business & Commercial Banking Business Unit

  • Work closely and collaboratively with teams across GCA and with subject matter experts across the Group, providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation

  • Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing BCB; exploring innovative and creative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the Group

  • Join – and often lead - matrix teams or squads to deliver integrated campaigns: bringing our media relations, internal communications, public affairs, digital, social and marketing teams together to create best-in-class activity

  • Create great relationships with our communications specialists across Group Corporate Affairs to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the Group and commercial brands (Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland) to media, politicians, opinion formers and our employees

Why join us?

From building a truly sustainable business to creating a place where people love to work, we need colleagues who are up for the challenge and can match our pace. People who love to push boundaries, make change happen and challenge the status quo. Sound like you?

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role, in areas such as media relations, public affairs and internal communications.

  • Demonstrable skills in proactive external communications alongside external reputation and partnering with marketing

  • Understanding of employee communications channels and how they can best be used innovatively to support improved employee engagement

  • Communications experience within financial services would be helpful, but isn’t essential

  • Great business partnering and relationship building skills, able to cultivate a brilliant internal network of subject matter experts

  • A creative problem solver, with an in-depth understanding of the communications landscape, challenges and opportunities and a high level of commercial and risk awareness

  • Comfortable and experienced in working in a matrix environment, with a growth mindset and can-do attitude, so we can create great communication outcomes

  • A solid understanding of our internal and external audiences; and using this understanding to tailor our communication activity for maximum impact

  • Effective at prioritising multiple demands and working within tight timescales, alongside outstanding attention to detail

  • Able to think differently and bring new ideas; working with pace and efficiency

  • A curious mindset and proven experience of responsibly leveraging AI to drive efficiency and enhance creativity.

  • Exceptional written communication skills, with proven ability to craft clear, compelling content including speeches and executive-level communications

This is a place for you:

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patters. And as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
