Job Description

About the Role

Hewitt is growing, and in this newly created role we are searching for a communications Manager who understands how to unlock the value within our business and share our story with customers, consumers, employees and industry stakeholders.

As the voice of a vertically integrated business that owns its product from paddock to plate, you will connect our teams, international customers and the Australian rural community through engaging, purposeful communications. This role is ideal for a strategic communicator who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery, helping strengthen our reputation as we continue expanding into the US and Asian markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver Hewitt’s strategic narrative, translating our integrated paddock-to-plate model into clear, consistent communications.
  • Align global and local messaging, ensuring teams across markets remain connected to our culture, purpose and business strategy.
  • Lead internal communications and employee engagement initiatives that inform, connect and inspire our workforce.
  • Drive brand, sustainability and corporate storytelling, highlighting our leadership in regenerative agriculture and animal welfare.
  • Support executive communications, corporate reputation management, issues management and social media communications.

About You

You are a strategic and confident communicator who can transform complex information into clear, compelling stories. Commercially minded, you understand the difference between a commodity and a premium brand, and how strong communications build reputation, trust and market presence.

You thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and bring sound judgement when working with senior leaders. Most importantly, you are passionate about purposeful storytelling and excited by the opportunity to help an Australian food company strengthen its voice on the global stage.

You Will Bring

  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across multiple audiences and platforms.
  • Commercial awareness, with experience in food, FMCG, agriculture, retail supply chains or related industries highly regarded.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with executive leaders.
  • A globally minded approach, with the ability to engage effectively across cultures and international markets.
  • Relevant qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline.

About Hewitt

With a rich history in family farming, and passion to be the world’s most unique red meat supply chain, today we have over 200,000 livestock across 5.6 million acres of Australia – and the largest integrated supply chain of certified organic meat.

We recognise the delicate balance between feeding the world, and nurturing the system that provides the food. Today that balance is more precarious than ever – it’s why our Purpose is to ‘feed the world with a system that lasts forever’. We’re delivering on this by applying a simple approach: we treat the land well, treat people well, and treat the animals well. All backed by the most rigorous external certification process.

Today we are an end-to-end supply chain: from livestock production to branded retail-ready products that include Cleaver’s, Borrowdale and Warilba.

We have career opportunities in our corporate headquarters, in our production facilities, and on the land. So if you love to be challenged, have strong initiative and thrive in a fast paced team, then consider Hewitt for the opportunity of a lifetime.
