Communications Manager – 12 Months Maternity Cover

Role Purpose

The Communications Manager supports the Engagement and Social Impact Director in the creation and delivery of a groupwide colleague engagement, leadership visibility and customer programme that is aligned to the Group’s purpose, mission, values and culture.

Key responsibilities of a communications manager with Markerstudy Group are set out below.

  • Lead in thedevelopment of a group-wide engagement programme that aligns with our vision, mission, and purpose. Drive engagement activities that embed our values and reflect our culture.
  • Measure engagement and analyse results to shape future engagement programmes, ensuring continuous improvement and effective strategies.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to understand communication objectives and shape a leadership visibility programme that meets these objectives and drive positive engagement within business areas.
  • Support in managing change across the Group and lead in all Bronze related crisis communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across the organisation. Deputise for the Engagement & Social Impact Director where relevant.
  • Be an active member of the Group’s network groups and colleague engagement ambassadors to create awareness of Group’s ambitions and targets relating to Sustainability and DEI&B.
  • Utilise technical knowledge to build, shape, and publish content for MSGr.
  • Create and deliver content that is engaging and informative, thinking creatively and beyond conventional limits.
  • Manage engagement performance reporting, attend stakeholder meetings, and provide insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • Manage divisional events, incorporating both technical and content aspects – from providing advice on what platforms to use, to creating content, advising on subject matter to ensure forums deliver positive outcomes.
  • Create, deliver the Group Engagement Survey – PULSE and any other groupwide feedback surveys to gather feedback on communication, levels of engagement and analyse and report results to Senior leadership and other stakeholders to inform future events, engagement and leadership and culture programmes.

Key skills and experience to undertake this role are also set out below.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field or Proven experience in an internal communications role, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Technical proficiency in managing and developing intranet platforms and other communication platforms like TEAMS live events, webinars, podcasts, Digital screens.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think innovatively and beyond traditional boundaries.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels – especially c-suite level.
  • Experience in managing events and driving engagement through diverse activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
