Job Description

We’re looking for a strategic communicator and hands-on leader to join our Corporate Communications team as a Communications & Foundation Manager — a unique opportunity to shape enterprise storytelling while helping support the impact of The Worthington Companies Foundation.

This role blends corporate communications, content strategy, community engagement and team leadership. You’ll work across the business to deliver meaningful communications that connect internal and external audiences, strengthen our brand, and support the communities where we live and work.

This role is on-site at our corporate headquarters in Columbus, OH.

What You’ll Do

Drive Enterprise Communications

  • Develop and execute integrated internal and external communications strategies aligned with company priorities
  • Create compelling content across multiple channels including intranet, websites, leadership messaging, employee communications and external platforms
  • Manage and evolve digital communication channels to improve engagement and user experience
  • Maintain content calendars and ensure messaging is timely, consistent and aligned with brand standards
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across functions to translate business priorities into effective communication strategies
  • Support high-visibility initiatives and enterprise-wide messaging

Lead Foundation & Community Engagement Efforts

  • Help operate The Worthington Companies Foundation through grant administration, nonprofit partnerships and community engagement activities
  • Coordinate grantmaking processes, reporting and impact tracking
  • Build relationships with nonprofit organizations and community partners
  • Support Foundation governance activities including board meeting preparation and logistics
  • Represent the Foundation at community and engagement events
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the Foundation’s visibility, effectiveness and impact

Improve Processes & Communication Effectiveness

  • Lead communications projects from concept through execution
  • Continuously improve communications tools, workflows and processes
  • Leverage AI, automation and data insights to enhance communication effectiveness and scalability
  • Support initiatives tied to recruiting, employee engagement, learning & development, safety, sustainability and culture

Lead & Develop Others

  • Coach and develop team members while fostering accountability and collaboration
  • Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution and delivery

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing digital content platforms, intranet sites and external websites
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating across functions and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communications tools such as Canva, CMS platforms and media distribution tools
  • Interest and capability in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve communications and productivity
  • Foundation, nonprofit or grant management experience is a plus
