About the Program
The PNG Australia Transition to Health (PATH) is a six and a half -year (July 2020-December 2026) health sector program funded by the Australian Government under the Papua New Guinea – Australia Partnership for Development. PATH supports the Government of PNG (GoPNG) to strengthen essential health service delivery in alignment with the National Health Plan 2021–2030. PATH is guided by the National Department of Health (NDoH), Provincial Health Authorities (PHAs) and the Bougainville Department of Health (BDoH), who together are responsible for the delivery of health services across PNG.
PATH’s most significant areas of service delivery support are tuberculosis, routine immunization and sexual and reproductive health. PATH is designed to simultaneously use its service delivery projects as an opportunity to build the capacity of PHAs and identify and address Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) issues in the sector.

About the Opportunity
The communications Coordinator supports the PATH communications team by managing event logistics, branding and assets, content and material production, as well as procurement and reporting tasks. Key working relationships include:
Communications and Public Diplomacy Lead
PATH Program Delivery and Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) team members
PATH Implementing Service Partner organisations’ communications personnel.
Key responsibilities
Support the communications team with content production across a range of spheres, including written, digital and design
Track communications delivery against PATH Workplan 2026 and other program requirements to ensure timely outputs
Work with the Communications Specialist to ensure communications materials are finalised, printed and disseminated on time for PATH events
Proofread and format reports and project documents to ensure alignment with Australian High Commission branding guidelines and PATH colours
Manage the PATH image bank, ensuring all multimedia files are stored and categorised appropriately, along with consent form
Provide relevant weekly media updates to Communications and Public Diplomacy Lead on trending topics and/or issues of interest/concern
Provide administrative and operational support to the Communications team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating quotations, print and merchandise orders, as well as travel and procurement processes
Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Team Leader and Communications and Public Diplomacy Lead.

About You

Professional experience and skills
Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a relevant communications or administration management role.
Understanding of communications and public diplomacy and grasp of PNG’s media landscape
Interest in communications, media and events
Demonstrated skills and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
Well-developed organisational and coordination skills, ability to plan and manage communication activities.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands
