Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Communications and working closely with the Director of Internal Communications, the Communications Coordinator plays an important role in supporting enterprise-wide communications initiatives across internal and executive communications, with additional support provided to media relations and reputation and incident management functions.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and prioritize requests for internal communications support
  • Format and distribute employee communications across multiple internal channels
  • Manage email distribution calendars and maintain intranet content
  • Support the development and execution of internal communications strategies and campaigns
  • Facilitate efficient departmental workflows
  • Produce reports that measure the impact of internal and external communications
  • Use communication data and insights to support strategic and tactical decision-making
  • Collaborate with team members who are strategists, writers, editors and subject-matter experts in internal and executive communication, media relations and issues management
  • Interact with employees across multiple executive levels throughout the enterprise
  • Handle sensitive information and interactions with tact, discretion and emotional intelligence

Note: This position is fully on-site in our Communications Office.

Salary Range: $65,800 - $130,800/annually

We’re seeking a detail-oriented individual with:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relation or related degree
  • Three or more years of experience in communications, media relations, marketing, journalism, public relations or related roles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational as well as interpersonal, written, verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • This is a full-time in-office position (in the Communications office)

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization
  • Proficiency with content management systems, such as WordPress; email distribution platforms, such as ContactMonkey; media monitoring tools, such as Muck Rack; and project management tools
