About you

We are looking for a thoughtful and practical
communications professional who enjoys creative work but also understands the
discipline needed in a corporate, government-funded program environment. This
role will suit someone who takes pride in producing strong content, can work
within clear processes and approvals, and is motivated by meaningful stories
about people, communities, international development and Pacific labour
mobility.

You do not need to have worked in
international development before, but you will need genuine interest in the
sector, the PALM scheme, public purpose communications or government-style
work. We are looking for someone who wants a varied role where no 2 weeks are
the same, with opportunities to research meaningful stories, travel when
required and build a diverse content portfolio as part of a supportive
communications team.

In your application and portfolio, we will
be looking for evidence that you:

  • Bring around 4 years’ experience in multimedia content production, communications, journalism, videography, photography, video editing, media monitoring or a related field, supported by a relevant degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Have a strong portfolio that demonstrates clear storytelling across written, photo, video, social or digital content.
Are confident capturing quality content in real-world settings, including operating professional camera equipment in manual mode and adapting to outdoor shoots, changing light, audio needs and field conditions.
  • Write and edit clearly for different audiences, channels and purposes, with strong judgement on tone, accuracy and cultural context.
  • Can manage competing priorities, fast turnarounds and multiple projects while keeping files, consent records, naming conventions and approval steps organised.
  • Are comfortable balancing creativity with brand, consent, safeguarding, client and approval requirements, and can work respectfully with diverse stakeholders and communities.
  • Are available and willing to travel within Australia and internationally when required, including to support field content capture and time-sensitive campaign needs.

We are committed to building a diverse,
geographically dispersed workforce to maximize our support. We encourage
applications from candidates from Pacific Island countries, Timor-Leste, and
across Australia. You must have valid Australian or country specific work
rights to be considered for this position - visa sponsorship is not
available.

We strongly encourage people with
disability to apply. Disclosing about your disability will not negatively
affect your application. Please tell us as much as you feel comfortable for us
to work with you about the appropriate adjustments that you might need. If you
would like further information or assistance with this, please contact recruitment@plmsp.com.au

Please
note: This role involves working with children, and the successful candidate
will be required to complete both a police check and a Working with
Children Check as part of Palladium’s commitment to being a child-safe
organisation.
