Job Description

· Make an impact through clear, engaging communications across the business

· Work across internal, digital and external communications

· Fixed-term opportunity through to September 2027

This is an opportunity to contribute to communications that support our people, customers and community while working across a varied portfolio of business priorities. You’ll join a collaborative environment where clear thinking, sound judgement and a practical approach are valued.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Communications Advisor to join our team on a fixed-term basis through to September 2027. This additional resource will help the team build momentum behind our new communications strategy, while providing practical advice and delivery support that strengthens employee engagement, protects and enhances our reputation, and keeps our internal and external audiences informed. While the role is intended to be full time, there may be an opportunity to reduce the hours slightly to make it work for the right person.

Joining a small but mighty communications team, this role provides a unique opportunity to work across the business where you’ll create clear, audience-focused content and help manage communications through our intranet, website, presentations, social media and other channels. You’ll also support projects, campaigns and events, maintain communications calendars and brand assets, and use insights to improve reach and engagement.

About You

With approximately 3-5 years of communication or marketing communication experience, you might be looking for that next step in your career, or keen to explore a new industry. You’ll be a practical and collaborative communications professional who enjoys turning complex information into clear, engaging content. You’ll build trusted relationships, offer sound advice and bring an organised approach to managing varied priorities. With a willingness to learn, open to being creative, and comfortable working at pace, you’ll bring:

· Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with experience tailoring content for different audiences and channels

· Experience delivering internal and/or external communications in a complex organisation, including through websites, intranets, content management systems and social media

· Confidence building relationships, gathering information and providing practical advice across all levels of a business

· Sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail, with strong planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

· A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience in the electricity, utilities, infrastructure or another regulated environment would be useful (however not a requirement), as would capability with design, multimedia, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams or AI-enabled communications tools.
