• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 pa + super

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) works to protect the state's environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable and clean energy.

The Corporate Affairs team is currently seeking to appoint 2 x Communications Advisor’s to help deliver strategic communications that supports priorities and outcomes.

As a Communications Advisor, you will work closely with project, policy and program teams across the department to develop and deliver engaging, audience-focused communications that support organisational priorities and outcomes. You will contribute to communications planning, content development and campaign delivery across a range of channels including digital, web and social media, while providing trusted advice to stakeholders on communication and engagement activities.

Operating in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects that help shape environmental outcomes for communities across NSW. The Corporate Affairs team is supportive, innovative and outcomes-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering clear, timely and effective communications that make a meaningful impact.

About You
You are a skilled communications professional experienced in delivering high-quality communications in complex organisations, ideally government or similar stakeholder environments. You communicate clearly and effectively, translating technical, policy and project information into engaging, audience-focused content. With strong knowledge of communications planning, digital, media and social channels, you combine strategic thinking with practical delivery to achieve effective outcomes.

You are organised, adaptable and collaborative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in fast-paced environments. You build strong stakeholder relationships, provide trusted advice and proactively apply emerging communications insights to improve outcomes. Most importantly, you are motivated to contribute to initiatives that protect and enhance NSW’s environment, heritage and communities.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
