The Opportunity
In your new role, you will be involved across the full lifecycle of communications systems supporting Transgrid’s network, from installation and commissioning through to ongoing maintenance, upgrades and fault finding.
You’ll be hands-on with installing new equipment and services, commissioning and testing systems, troubleshooting faults, and maintaining critical network assets. The work is varied and will see you supporting both project and operational activities across multiple sites.
You’ll work across a range of technologies including fibre optics and OPGW, microwave and radio systems, as well as control, power and alarm systems. Within broadband networks, you’ll gain exposure to modern technologies such as MPLS and DWDM, alongside legacy systems including SDH and PDH.
This role involves regular travel, with approximately 50–60% of your time spent working away from home during the week. In return, you'll have the opportunity to more through away work and associated allowances.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience working with telecommunications, communications or network systems across maintenance, installation and commissioning environments.
