
Our client, a longstanding nonprofit organization in Manhattan, is seeking a creative, energetic, and highly organized Marketing & Communications Specialist to manage communications and marketing initiatives across the organization and its related programs.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and editor with hands-on digital marketing experience who can seamlessly manage multiple audiences, projects, and deadlines. This individual will own a broad range of communications initiatives spanning email marketing, website management, social media, digital campaigns, graphic design, events, and external communications.
This is a full-time, fully onsite, temp-to-perm position in Manhattan with a permanent salary of up to $65K plus benefits. Some evening or event attendance may be required.
Draft, edit, proofread, and revise emails, letters, announcements, web articles, speeches, and other internal and external communications
Design, build, schedule, and launch email marketing campaigns and recurring communications
Manage audience lists, segmentation, links, images, and campaign accuracy
Maintain and update organizational websites, including event calendars, articles, registration information, images, and other time-sensitive content
Create and publish engaging social media content across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
Develop and execute digital campaigns across email, web, social media, and other channels
Create and resize graphics, flyers, posters, digital signage, social media assets, and event materials
Partner with leadership to maintain a cohesive brand, voice, and visual identity across communications
Promote programs and events through social media, digital advertising, external advertising, and media outreach
Monitor media coverage and relevant organizational mentions
Review website and campaign analytics to identify trends in traffic, engagement, search, and content performance
Maintain communications calendars and manage recurring weekly and event-related deadlines
Attend select events as needed to support communications, photography, content gathering, and promotion
Manage projects from initial request through drafting, approvals, publication, and follow-up
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Media, or a related field preferred
3–5 years of relevant marketing, communications, digital media, or related professional experience
Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills
Strong visual judgment with the ability to produce polished, brand-consistent materials
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, recurring deadlines, and last-minute requests simultaneously
Proactive, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and senior stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage campaign and website performance data
Experience within a nonprofit, school, membership organization, or other community-focused environment is a plus
Strong working knowledge of WordPress
Experience with Mailchimp or a comparable email marketing platform
Experience managing organizational accounts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar
Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital campaign reporting
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable design software
Ability to create and edit web-ready images, digital graphics, print materials, and QR codes
Familiarity with WooCommerce and Gravity Forms is a plus
Basic understanding of website publishing, hyperlinks, image sizing, and HTML formatting preferred
Digital advertising, social media promotion, and media monitoring experience is a plus
Structure: Temp-to-perm
Compensation: Up to $65K base + benefits upon permanent conversion
Additional Expectations: Some evening and event attendance may be required
