This is a grant-funded contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible to lead and implement the Health Data Science Centre’s communications strategy by translating complex research and data science outputs into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences, and ensuring effective dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and consistent branding in line with AKU guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement integrated internal and external communications strategy for the Centre.
• Translate complex health data science and research outputs into accessible content for diverse audiences.
• Manage website, newsletters, and social media platforms.
• Support dissemination of research findings to researchers, policymakers, and public stakeholders.
• Develop reports, policy briefs, press releases, presentations, and other communication tools.
• Coordinate with internal teams, researchers, and external partners for consistent messaging.
• Manage media engagement and identify opportunities for visibility and partnerships.
• Track effectiveness of communication activities and refine strategies accordingly.
• Ensure all communications follow AKU branding and institutional guidelines.
• Provide additional communication support as required by the Centre leadership.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in communications, preferably in health, research, or development sectors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and digital communication tools (website, social media, email platforms).
• Strong writing, editing, and content development skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong written and spoken English language skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical and research information into clear, accessible communication.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced research environment.
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated professional integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and meet tight deadlines
