The Communication Coordinator is a new full-time position. With activities spanning in various provinces and over 30 CSO partners, the role is essential for ensuring coherent, impactful messaging across diverse audiences. This position develops advocacy materials to support the project’s objectives around social inclusion and democratic participation. The position Given the scale of stakeholder engagement, including government actors, this role ensures the project's voice is consistent, strategic and aligned with its advocacy and learning goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Implement the comms and visibility plan of the We rise togetherProject with technical guidance from the Donor Communications Lead.
  • Produce timely communications material such as factsheets, and other informative material for informing, educating and engaging various stakeholders of the project.
  • Working with technical specialists and subject matter experts Work closely with the project team to produce high-quality, multi-purpose creative content that showcase the impact of the project.
  • Produce at least one impact story per month for the project and regular content for social media, including photos and videos.
  • Ensure all content are pitched through Content Flow and uploaded to Story Hub on time while meeting professional standards.
  • Coordinate with the Donor Communications Lead to preposition Project in media and digital platforms to raise the profile.
  • Support the MEAL coordinator to finalize evidence-based reports and documentation.
  • Reputation Risk & Emergency Communications

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Development Studies or related field.
  • At least 3 progressive years of experience in a Communications or Media position or similar responsibilities in the development sector, with evidence showing examples of previous work (articles, social media content, photos, videos etc)
  • Excellent skills in creative and content writing
  • Fluency in at least two languages (English, Tamil/Sinhalese)
  • Ability to work in stressful environments with physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
