Starting Date: October 28, 2026
Shift and Hours of Work: 1.0 FTE-full-time- term-currently 08:15-16:30
Pay Scale: As per established pay scale
Specifications: Term ending October 30, 2028 with possibility of extension. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Studies, Marketing, or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and considerable experience in corporate or strategic communications may be considered.
- Training or certification in change management, project management, digital communications, fundraising communications, or public relations is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum four (4) years of related experience in corporate, organizational, or strategic communications.
- Proven success in developing and implementing strategic communications plans, programs, and engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, managing, and evaluating internal communications strategies within a large, multi-site organization.
- Supporting organizational change initiatives through communications planning, community engagement, and employee communications.
- Managing projects involving social media, content creation, marketing communications, media relations, and the development of promotional materials.
- Supporting fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship activities, and philanthropic initiatives is considered an asset.
- Working with accessible websites, content management systems, and digital communication platforms, such as Blink, is considered an asset.
- Background in healthcare, long-term care, not-for-profit, or public sector environments is considered an asset.
Abilities and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in French and English.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to research, critically analyze, synthesize, and translate complex information into clear, plain-language, accessible, and engaging communications.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, strategic, proactive, flexible, and responsive to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate, prioritize, and complete multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, create shared understanding, foster relationships, and engage diverse internal and external communities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, community partners, media representatives, volunteers, donors, senior leaders, and external groups.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated creativity, initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital communication platforms.
- Experience with website content management systems, social media platforms, analytics, and digital engagement tools.

- Strategic communications, public relations, media relations, community engagement, and reputation management principles.
- Internal communications best practices, employee engagement strategies, and organizational change communications.
- Fundraising communications, donor stewardship, philanthropic engagement, and community relations practices.
