Job Description

The Commodity Manager leads material strategies for over $100M in annual spend across Vertiv EMEA. Partnering with LoB Procurement Leaders and the Global Commodity Team, this role develops and executes commodity strategies to optimize supply chain performance, including inventory management, cycle time reduction, supplier development, and on-time delivery.

The position supports plants with material shortages, manages supplier escalations, ensures compliance, and drives system tools implementation. Reporting to the Director Procurement EMEA, this role is key to maximizing regional synergies and financial results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and regional priorities, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply continuity.
  • Drive synergies across EMEA LoBs to improve material productivity, streamline processes, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Set commodity goals, manage suppliers, and provide cross-functional leadership to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead complex project quotations and strategic supplier negotiations, managing risks and ensuring favorable commercial terms.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Engineering and operations teams to improve service levels, reduce lead times, and conduct supplier quarterly business reviews.
  • Support plants in managing material shortages, resolving supplier issues, and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Ensure compliance with trade, import/export, environmental, and legal standards in supplier selection, contracts, and management.
  • Analyze programs, processes, and policies, recommending and implementing improvements to increase supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee special projects and initiatives assigned by management, driving results across multiple functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS in Business Management or Engineering.
  • 10+ years in Purchasing, Procurement, Operations, Materials, or Sales within the Electrical Industry.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications.
