Job Description

The Commodity Manager for Infrastructure/Utilities is responsible for providing the design and implementation of sourcing solutions that ensure continuity of indirect spend supplies enabling Advanced Energy’s various business groups to operate efficiently, support internal requirements, corporate cost objectives, and enables cost effective solutions for indirect spending in global regions. Responsible for oversight on performance metrics related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost, and have overall responsible to analyze and execute decisions regarding supplier selection, overall performance, and problem resolution/crisis management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Request for strategic sourcing and contract negotiation for Infrastructure, Utilities (or example: energy, gensets, liquid nitrogen, compressed air, etc) and Facilities Service but not limited to Janitorial and Facilities Services such as (but not limited to) Janitorial, Security, and other services.
  2. Develop and execute cost-tracking system for facilities operations to improve financial transparency and forecasting.
  3. Lead energy efficiency initiatives to lower utility cost as much as possible.
  4. Optimize the spends through cost saving initiatives, stanadardize facilities equipment brand and contract negotiations/ tendering.
  5. Identify and evaluate and manage global/ regional suppliers with Facilities stakeholders to eusure quality, compliance and performance. Facilitate annual or quarterly review and supplier scorecards, as required.
  6. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and market dynamics to inform sourcing decisions.
  7. Mitigate supply chain risk through proactive planning and contingency strategies.
  8. Partner with Finance, Legal and Facilities teams to align procurement goals with business objectives such as new factory setup or factory expansion.
  9. Support / responsible for global AE manufacturing factories, design and global service centers.
  10. Ensure compliance with established procurement processes, including the use of competitive bidding where required, proper documentation of decisions, adherence to Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) processes, compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) approvals, and sourcing only from approved vendor lists.
  11. Proactively identify and prevent any unethical or non‑compliant behavior, abnormal requests, or attempts to bypass requirements, and stop and escalate such actions immediately. Ethical conduct and compliance are mandatory.
  12. Accountable for policy adherence, expectation reinforcement, and cross‑functional partnership with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Quality to uphold required standards.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a standard office environment
  • uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, etc.)
  • Frequent travel may be required.

SKILLS:

  1. Knowledge of facility management, utilities contracts and infrastructure lifecycle costs.
  2. Proven or demonstrated performance developing strategic supplier relationships.
  3. Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation.
  4. Excellent working knowledge of purchasing and electronic manufacturing processes.
  5. Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively and professionally to changing requirements
  6. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  7. Proficient with SAP or Ariba
  8. Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, MS Standard Office

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  1. 7+ years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management in Real Estate, Infrastructure and Utilities.
  2. Proven track record managing large scale spend with ability to develop Cost-Tracking system is preferred.
  3. Experience in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  4. Collaborating with business leaders or other stakeholders to implement strategies and sourcing initiatives.
  5. Commodity Spend Analysis
  6. Supplier Contract management
  7. Supporting Procure to Pay process including PO issuance and supplier shipment
  8. Experience in a very high growth rate electronic business is preferred.

EDUCATION:

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Facility Management or Construction Management and/or experience.
